French Toast Recipe for Karen
This is the French toast recipe that Karen likes as Karen likes it.
- 1 loaf of challah bread, manually sliced
- Generous butter as needed
Mix into a bowl:
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg (heaping)
- 2 Tbsp 1 tsp sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Beat thoroughly and keep mixture well-mixed. Butter pan generously. Keep pan on medium heat level, so that butter melts but doesn’t burn. For each slice, re-mix mixture and soak slice before mixture has time to settle. Thoroughly saturate the bread.
Cook each piece of bread for 2-3 minutes per side total, flipping a bit more often to monitor. You can have multiple going at once, but track their time independently.
Serve as they come out.
